The Blandford Wesleyan Methodist Circuit was part of the Shaftesbury Circuit until 1867 when it became a separate circuit. In 1873 it was amalgamated with Sturminster Newton Wesleyan Methodist Circuit to form the Blandford and Sturminster Wesleyan Methodist Circuit. In 1933 it became part of the Stour Valley Circuit.
