‘Some Remarks on the Original Foundation & Construction of.. Exeter Cathedral' by the Rev. Charles Lyttelton, then Dean of Exeter, afterwards Bishop of Carlisle, PSA (MSS/0051), and 'Observations on Bishop Lyttelton's account of Exeter Cathedral' by Sir Henry Charles Englefield, 7th Bt., FSA (PSA, 1811), 1797 (MSS/0052). Both items published by SA (part I of the Monuments and Buildings series, ed. Englefield (1797), 1-12, 13-16), with drawings by John Carter, engraved by James Basire. Lyttelton's paper was read to SA, 7, 14, 21 Dec. 1769 (Minute Book XI, pp. 173-5, 177-81, 185-9) and 26 Jan., 2, 9 Feb. 1792 (Minute Book XXIV, pp. 196-8, 203-5, 206-9); Englefield's paper was read 6 Apr. 1797 (Minute Book XXVI, pp. 301-8).
