Alexander C. Hutchinson was born in India on 8 March 1905. He worked in the Turbine Department of the Queens' Engineering Works, Bedford, from 1934 until his retirement in about 1965 (Z 902/1 section). He lived in Haynes from about 1946 until his death, showing a keen interest in village issues such as signposts and footpaths (Z 902/2/1-2). His other interests included motoring (Z 902/3) and golf (Z 902/6/4). Alexander Hutchinson died on 8 December 1995 at Woburn Sands Nursing Home. His wife, Doctor Geraldine Hutchinson, predeceased him c.1990.
