Description

George Clifford to Richard Hill.

He explains a mistake in filling up a bill on Du Bois and explains steps to set it in order, making good the remainder of Hill's account to his nephew Mr. Thomas Hill "whom we shall with pleasure give such credits as he shall require".

"We are sorry you have such an indifferent opinion that the Breaches made by ye S. Sea Directors will not be so soon repaired, as perhaps some did expect, and we really fear if there be any conniveance shewn in respect to some, that the wholl redresse will come to nothing and cause a general discontent if not worse ..."

Directed to the Honourable Richard Hill Esquire in Cleaveland Court near St. James's Palace.

On dorse: jotted calculations in Hill's hand.
