<span class="wrapper"><p>LMA has the records of the Middlesex Sessions which included copies of the rules of Friendly and Benefit Building Societies 1799-1859 (MR/SB). The Clerk of the Peace's registers (MC/R) contain later rules and bonds deposited 1843-1889. A more complete set of rules is held by the Registrar of Friendly Societies.</p> <p>LMA also holds records of property companies such as Arcade Property Company Ltd (ACC/2496) and Hagenbach Properties Limited (ACC/3143), a number of Estate Agents such as Balch and Balch (B/BAL), and Surveyors such as J.R. The London Grosvenor Building Society was established in 1878 and latterly had offices at 5 Old Brompton Road, London SW7

Between 1950 and 1983 the society took over a number of other building societies based in the London area, including the Middlesex Building Society and the Metropole Building Society
