By his will proved in 1878, John Calthrop of Stanhoe Hall, Norfolk left most of his property in trust for his grandson, Henry Calthrop Hollway-Calthrop. This property consisted mainly of the Stanhoe Estate near King's Lynn and the Wissett Lodge Estate near Halesworth in Suffolk. The trust was wound up on Hollway-Calthorp's death in 1948 when the estate was sold and the proceeds were divided between John Calthrop's surviving descendants. Henry Michelmore of the solicitor's firm of Michelmores in Exeter became a trustee in 1927, as executor of a former Calthrop trustee, R.C. Coulton of King's Lynn.
