The King grants to Thomas Corbet that he and his heirs for ever shall have one market at his manor of Shelve in the County of Salop each week on Friday and one fair there each year for 3 days duration, on the vigil, on the day and on the day after the Invention of the Holy Cross (2-4 May) unless the market and the fair should be harmful to the neighbouring markets and neighbouring fairs; wherefore the King wishes that the said Thomas and his heir forever shall have the said market and fair at his manor of Shelve with all liberties, free customs belonging to a market and fair of this sort, unless as aforesaid. Witnesses: Hugh le Despenser, Justiciar of England, Nicholas de Molies, John Maunsell, Thomas Ebor, Imbert Pogeis, John de Courteney, Nicholas de St. Maure, Ingram de Percy, Imbert de Muntferaunt, Peter de Nevill, Bartholomew le Bygod and others. Given at the Tower of London 28th day of March.
