Description

This collection consists of minutes and other administrative papers; papers relating to entertainments such as bazaars; correspondence addressed to Mrs Beecher Bryant - much of which was from Doctor Scott Lidget - founder of the Bermondsey Settlement and a family friend; and photographs of church garden parties and views of the church

Administrative / biographical background

Hither Green Wesleyan Methodist Church stood in the angle of Wellmeadow Road and Hither Green Lane, Lewisham. It was built in 1900 by architects Gordon, Lowther and Gunton, but was destroyed by bombing in 1940.
