Description (What the record is about)

Xerox copy of court book containing curia legalis and view of frankpledge for the Hundred of Somerton, and curia tremura for 'Somerton Forincica'. The pattern of courts is basically half-yearly in Apr. or May and Oct., with some additional Hillary Term tremura courts, e.g. Jan. 1731.
Proceedings incl.: at Hundred courts, lists of tenants owing suit, tithingmen and jurors; appointments of constables, and jury presentments incl. freeholders making default of suit. Tremura courts have lists of tithingmen only. Proceedings are in English from Apr. 1733. 179 fos.
