Ts memoir (67pp, written in 1942) describing his work as a civilian surgeon in Kenh Tung, near the China/Siam borders, 1939-1941, and his service with the Indian Medical Department as Assistant Surgeon, Army HQ Rangoon (December 1941 - March 1942) and No. 4 Burma General Hospital, Taunggyi (April 1942), principlally valuable for its descriptions of chaotic scenes in Rangoon as it fell (7 March 1942), his evacuation to India (April-May 1942 via Mytkyina) and a number of first hand and secondhand accounts of friends' experiences in the evacuation (many on foot via the Hukawng Valley) from Burma.
