Machine Gun Corps, twenty-eight
yenra fit age, was the son of
George and Mary Ann Kydd, Rlliot,
near Arhronth. He had gone to
America, but returned to enlist in a
home regiment in March 1915. He
joined the H. L. J., but was trans-
ferred to the Machine Gun Corps oi
the 29th Battalion. For three years
lie did his part in France ah a
machine gunner, and “ well and hard
lie fought/’ A shell bursting within
a few yards killed him on the 30th of
September 1918, and lie was buried
close to the village of Ghelve, near
Mcnin. His lieutenant wrote of him
as a very good n.o.o., whom ho was
extremely sorry to lose.;

Other Notes: KYDD, Corporal, CHARLES, 25040. 29th Bn. Machine Gun Corps (Inf). Killed in action 30th September 1918. Age 28. Son of George and Mary Ann Kydd, of Elliot, Arbroath, Forfarshire. IX. E. 8. Duhallow A.D.S. Cemetery - Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.;
