-letter from Joseph Burke, University of Melbourne, dated 1 December 1955, concerning Burke's publication and his contribution to Hogarth studies. The letter also concerns the composition of the Fine Arts Department at the University, with names of lecturers; mention of the "Warburg influence" & Burke's own debt to his teacher Hake [removed from inside front cover]

-two typed drafts, both with handwritten annotations, of an article by Oppé reviewing Hogarth's "Analysis of Beauty, edited by Joseph Burke"[removed from inside front cover]

-twenty research notes, handwritten and typed, some headed Analysis 1st Draft, Analysis 2nd Draft and Addn Notes on Draft 2 [removed from inside front cover]

-proof of a published article by Oppé, undated, headed "Hogarth's Analysis of Beauty. Edited by Joseph Burke." [removed from inside front cover]

-newspaper cutting of an article titled "Hogarth's Thoughts on His Art" from The Times Literary Supplement, Friday 20 January 1956, concerning a review of "Willam Hogarth: The Analysis of Beauty", Edited with an introduction by Joseph Burke, Oxford: Clarendon Press [removed from pp.liv-lv]

-transcription from "The Art of Painting After the Italian Manner ...", by John Elsum, 1704 [removed from pp.10-11]
