Although the Reverend Robert Carter has joined in a receipt for £454 5s on a surrender executed by direction of the Duke of Rutland by John Lely the writer and Mr. Carter to Philip Francis Esq. of a term of 500 years for £2400, part of the estate of the late Joseph Woolmer esq. no part had been paid to Mr. Carter and the writer is accountable to Joseph Woolmer's three daughters
