535b. The Birmingham Plate & Crown Glass Co. (HL). Mar., May, Jun., Aug-Oct. 1846, Feb., Mar. 1847, May 1866, May, Jun, Sep., Oct. 1872. 47 items.
80 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 44 inch cylinder, 7 foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod].

Coloured original and coloured reverse plan and sections of the engine house, Mar. 1846 (4 drawings on 1 sheet); coloured plan and section of the engine and boilers, May/ Jun. 1846; reverse plans and sections of the engine house, plan of the tunnel, air pump and condenser, hot water cistern and waste water pipe, blow pipe, pumps etc., plan and sections of the boilers - reverse drawings, some partially coloured, May 1846; transverse section of boilers - coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings; plan and elevation of steam, feed, safety and damper pipes - original and reverse drawings; wheels and shafting for the grinding machinery, plan and sections of culvert to convey water from the canal basin, "first motion" (not coded); cast iron beams to carry the water tank, cistern, plummer blocks for the grinding and polishing shafts - all reverse drawings, some partially coloured; gearing and shafts for the grinding machinery, force pump, additional link to the parallel motion for working the force pump, shafting for connecting the polishing machinery - partially coloured original and partially coloured reverse drawings; spur wheels and pinions - reverse drawings; pencil drawings of working gear (not dated or coded); press copy memorandum of the stones required for the platforms. All the drawings bear letter codes unless otherwise noted.
Also the following later drawings: sketches for new crank, May 1866; new shaft block etc., air pump, 8 inch geared steam stop pipe and steam pipe - original and copy drawings, May-Jun. 1872; back plate, slide valve etc., Sep. 1872; eccentric and ring, Oct. 1872; nozzle side pipes of 50 horse engine, 1872 [?]. All the drawings except the last 2 items bear letter codes.
