Extracts of the Government of India's correspondence, proceedings, minutes etc in the Secret Department sent home with their Secret Letters to the EIC Court of Directors (1836-1858) and the India Office (1858-1874) and used by the home authorities for information purposes when compiling their answering dispatches to India. Vol 168, Jul 1858 [L/PS/5/249] contains enclosures to Secret Letters from India and Singapore; Vol 257, 1861-1865 [L/PS/5/257] contains enclosures to Secret Letters from India and Madras; Vol 177, 1866-1874 [L/PS/5/258] contains abstracts of Secret Letters from India.
