Covenant by John Robinson of Cotehill to surrender his house and land there, held in customary tenure (Edward Aglionby Esq., lord), rent 4s. 4d., to his brother Thomas Robinson of Bleckall [Blackhall otherwise Blackwell, near Carlisle], having sold it to him for £13; bond to fulfil this, taken; rent to the King, ½d a year, n.d. (1627)
Lease for £32, and for 10s. 2d. a year rent: Edward Aglionby of the City of Carlisle Esq., to Michael Blacklocke of the said City, butcher, and Alice his wife - "the full two partes" of his tenement or farmhold at "law Coatehill" (Low Cotehill), lately occupied by Thomas Robinson deceased and his assigns; no mention of tofts; right of turbary included; term of lease, 14 years; lessee to repair, to the satisfaction of "two sufficient neighbours" at time of expiry of lease, 10 February 5 Charles I, 1629(/30)
Signed by the lessees; seals embossed on paper, cut-back and pressed onto red wax. Paper deed in handwriting resembling the Steward's or his clerk's.
