Short paper connected with Cavendish's Mathematical Theory of Electricity

This appears to be a rough draft of the "Preliminary Propositions" (HY/1/4): a continuation of Cavendish's paper "An attempt to explain Some of the Principle [sic] Phenomena of Electricity by Means of an Elastic Fluid" published in "Philosophical Transactions" 31 December 1771 Vol. 61 pp584-677.

The record is numbered 1 in pen, No 7 in red pen and "draft of No 4" in pencil. The first page contains a note from WH (William Snow Harris) stating "This is a short paper connected with Mr Cavendish's Mathematical Theory of Electricity. The paper appears to be first or rough drafts, but the sequence of the parts are easily traced- it does not appear to have been ever published. It should be connected with Mr Cavendish's Paper in the 61st volume of the Phil. Transactions p584. Year 1771 and is purely [illegible] proceding with the [illegible] on the assumption that electricity is a species of fluid. The paper appears to be a valuable illustration of the theory so beautifully expanded by Mr Cavendish"'. There are also pencil marks on the top of the first page "First of Mathematical Papers" and illegible pencil words at the bottom of the first page.
