Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He personally superintended the bringing up of rations under very heavy shell fire. He horses in the limber were hit and he at once unloaded the rations and himself helped to carrythem forward. He made four journeys with two men over very heavily shelled ground until all the rations had been got forward. But for his initiative and devotion to duty, the troops in the line would not have been supplied.;
