This is a basic catalogue of the documents in the Plymouth Municipal Records which includes:
Charters, letters patent, ancient books of record, sessions and constitution books, freedoms and apprenticeships, elections and appointments, general and receivers accounts, rentals, surveys and property records, deeds and leases.
Borough court records, church papers including correspondence and leases.
Charities including Hospital of Poor's Portion, orphans and, almshouses, Plymouth Grammar School, Joan Bennett's Trust, Helés Charity, Revels Gift and documents deposited by the Municipal Charities Trust.
Property and leases relating to Sutton Pool, Caltewates and the Hoe. Correspondence and licenses relating to hotels, theatres, Althanaeum and Markets.
Among the miscellaneous papers are:
Court of Chancery examinations, record book of Manor Courts, land and assessed taxes, petitions, loyal addresses (George III and Regency period) and printed notices relating to defeat of the French army.

Papers relating to the Plymouth Volunteers, billet and convoy papers, deserters, aliens, passports during the Napoleonic war period.
