Description

Reverse plan and sections of the engine and boiler houses, framing and cistern. Both the drawings bear letter codes.

Original Portfolio or 'Book' No. 429. Catalogue of Old Engines p. 398.

For Robert Fall & Co. Flax mill, Westbarns, near Dunbar. According to the correspondence in Business Letter Book Nov. 1800-Jul. 1801, Robert Fall & Co. ordered a 12 horse power engine on 9 Feb. 1801, and presumably Book 429 was opened accordingly. However Engine Order Book No. 3 notes that the engine was suspended, but gives no date.
