The Royal York Lodge of Union was established in 1773 and met at the Bath Barge, Queen Street, Bristol. In 1773 the lodge was named the Union Lodge but in 1814 it was renamed the Royal York Lodge of Union. In 1784 the lodge was erased but it was reinstated in the same year. In 1818 the lodge met at the Freemasons' Hall, Bridge Street, Bristol and the meetings remained there until the lodge was erased in 1838.
