Description (What the record is about)
-
Letters from James Watt Jr. to William Creighton, head of the Drawing Office, from 1817. Some of the letters are also addressed simply to “Boulton Watt & Co.”, but are docketed by Creighton. The bundle also includes letters to the London-based engine erector James Brown. Brown frequently assisted in the Drawing Office when he was visiting Soho.
This bundle was examined and possibly re-arranged by Henry Hazleton in the 1890s, as it has a card cover in the same style as the previous three large bundles.
