Correspondence files created by the Bath City Waterworks Office, a division of the City Council's Engineering Department. These correspondence files cover a wide range of subjects relating to the waterworks including: staffing and productivity; Monkswood Reservoir; the Reservoir Safety Provisions Act; new sources at Bathampton Meadows; reservoirs and water tanks and towers; maintenance of water mains; extension of water mains; supply and mains extensions for housing estates; development of waterworks estate lands including, Charmy Down Farm, Fry's Farm and Henley Tyning Farm; pumping schemes and stations; chemical analysis of water sources; the Combe Down Waterworks Company; improvements in supply to the south side of the city; chlorination schemes; fire hydrants; the Bristol, Bath and Mendip Area supply scheme; the Newton Meadows scheme; and the Englishcombe Southside scheme.
