Bridlington Urban District Council was formed in January 1895 under the terms of the Local Government Act 1894. The Council functioned until November 1899 when Bridlington was made into a Municipal Borough. The Bridlington Urban District consisted of Bridlington and parts of the civil parishes of Bessingby, Hilderthorpe and Sewerby.
