Compilation of 1930s/1940s field recordings of Texas blues made by John Lomax for the Library of Congress, mostly in state penitentiaries. The recordings are mostly of a fragmentary nature, with beginnings and endings of songs cut off. This compilation appears to have been assigned the reference number ‘C1’, but this does not correspond to any of Oliver’s other tape series.
