[Illegible] (7 Apr. 1879): concerning echinoderms of the Beer Chalk.

J. Prestwich (Professor, Sir Joseph Prestwich (1812-1896) of Oxford University, writing from Sevenoaks) (32 Aug. 1883): on a 'Downton [Hants.] implement'.

Salisbury, South Wilts and Blackmore Museums (23 Jul. 1904): printed circular thanking Westlake for his services as honorary curator (signed by S.S. Fisher).

A.H. Kingsbury (1 Jan. 1886): on palaeontological method, geology of the New Forest, etc.

G.E. Dartnell (20 Jan. 1888): on the identity of certain specimens: R. fluitans or R. penicillatus, and on violas and polygalas.

H.B. Woodward (Geological Society) (25 Nov. 1897): concerning a boring at Golden Hill, Isle of Wight.

S.A. Steward (Belfast Museum) (15 Jan. 1898): thanks him for his 'Tabular index' which will be useful to him as a summary of Barrois' work. (In 1888, EW published Tabular index of Upper Cretaceous fossils of England and Ireland, cited by Dr. C. Barrois ...) (see: Westlake/Box 2)

A. Rowe (22 June 1898): concerning micrasters [echinoids] of the Chalk.

R.L. Herries (Secretary of the Geological Society) (21 June 1899)

W. Whitaker (22 June 1899): informing EW that he has been reinstated as a member of the Geological Society.

W. Whitaker (26 Oct. 1899): asking EW whether he would colour certain maps for him.

[?] Whitaker (of the South Western & Midland Railway Companies' Somerset & Dorset Joint Line ...) (3 Nov. 1899): on the depth of a well at Charlton, etc. (this is a different Whitaker from the above)

R. Ashington Bullen (11 Dec. 1902): thanking him for sending two pamphlets, and discussing the figuring of some of EW's flint implements.

A. Rowe (20 May and 24 Aug. 1905): concerning measurements of the depth of the Chalk at Culver Cliff and Sandown Bay, [Isle of Wight]. He includes a sketch map on tracing paper. With 2 sheets of EW's calculations of the depth of the chalk strata, noting characteristic fossils.

R. Rawley (14 Apr. and 4 May 1916): concerning a cabinet he has for sale suitable for fossils (in response to EW's ad' in Exchange & Mart)

R.A. Smith (of the British Museum) (10 Feb. 1922): concerning the book Die steinzeitliche Technik [by Pfeiffer].

H. Balfour (of the Pitt Rivers Museum) (11 Feb. 1922?): concerning books and articles on the preparation of skins.
