Folios 301-302. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to Walter May Barton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt on 26 December 1879 of the form of queries containing the particulars of the appointment of Maria Stratton to the office of nurse at the workhouse of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union. They give their approval to the payment to her of a salary of £20 per annum and also to paying the sum of 1s per week in lieu of beer.
