Administrative / biographical background

The Lodge of Moral Reform was established in 1781 and met at the Crown, Deptford, London. In 1781 the lodge was named the Lodge of Reformation but in 1813 it was renamed the Lodge of Moral Reform. In 1813 the lodge met at the New Cross Tavern, New Cross Road, New Cross, London and the meetings remained there until the lodge was erased in 1830.
