Title
D.Eng.RD: 1955-56 development and research estimates
Date
11 November 1955
Description

The overall spend of £2,713,213 at 96% shows that we underspent £110,000, this is considered reasonable at this juncture. Engine supply: The Mamba at 786% is £4,500 overspent, which is high, but as this only covers supply of three engines for the Dakota and these are now completed, this is within the total estimate and should be satisfactory. The Viper at 39%. £31,000 underspent is very low, this probably being due to the cancellation of the Avro engines. Flight testing: The Python at 29%. £1,500 overspent. The Mamba at 24% underspent is understandable as the aircraft has been awaiting the engines. These have now been supplied and considerable flying has been done which should soon balance his section
