Description (What the record is about)
-
Discusses the possibility of visiting Gunnis's cousin and the problems with travel; has asked Dick [John Richard Bickersteth] to make enquiries. Had another [doodlebug] down in a wood on the estate, making seven in all in Ashburnham. Another plane came down at Normanhurst [in Catsfield]; thinks that the crew baled out. The weather has continued to be cloudy and against us; the authorities should have known that the summers are always like that. The Russians will soon be in East Prussia. Another 'fiend' has come through the clouds; fled to the shelter the other day when six of our planes started firing at the right over the house. Is surprised how the new windows stand up to the constant blast. Has just seen fighters and another devil near the church. The weather is worse.
