CR 2017/TP24/1. "Pro Patria" to Thomas Pennant at Downing, 25th Dec.1771, about Newmarket, Flintshire: the mount on the hill north of it and the school, etc.
CR 2017/TP24/2-3. S[amuel] Small to the same at Downing, 26th Oct. 1775, about the history of the hundred of Meylor, Flints. and a bill from the same, which also contains a reference to local politics.
CR 2017/TP24/4. Richard Williams of Fron to the same at Downing, 13th Nov.1775: sending him a poem in Latin in honour of Pennant which he hopes the latter will have published.
CR 2017/TP24/5-15. Notes about S. Winifred, her well and Holywell, not in Pennant's hand; Pennant's notes entitled "Antiquities, Natural Curiosities, etc. taken from Lhuwd's Itinerary" for Flints. and Denbighs; answers to queries not in Pennant's hand about the antiquities of the parish of Cwm or Combe, Flints.; notes about some churchyard inscriptions in Wales, the painted glass in the window at 'Dysarth' [Dyserth, Flints.], pedigree of the Bullen or Boleyn family showing its connections with the Percys, Howards etc.; document about an inquisition of Edward I over the right of Robert Banaster to the manor of Prestanton or Prestatyn [referred to in Tours in Wales, vol. 2. p.115, as Sebright's MS]; copy of a deed respecting lands and the mill at Llanarmon in Yale, 34 Hen.VI. Some of this material was probably used in Pennant's Tours in Wales and Whiteford and Holywell.
