-
Description (What the record is about)
-
'The Screamer is a rocket motor with a thrust of 4,000lbs, intended primarily for assisted climbing, though it can be used for all conditions requiring high-thrust for short periods of time. It is of particular use at high altitudes where the rarified atmosphere makes other types of power plant comparatively ineffective. In principle, the Screamer is similar to the Snarler, a 2,000lb thrust rocket of which it it a development. The fuel is a mixture of methanol and water which is burnt with liquid oxygen.'
