Tripartite articles of agreement.
(1) Wm. Cotton of Church Lawford (Long Lawford, Wa.), mason.
(2) Elizabeth Garfield of Church Lawford, spin.
(3) Wm. Ward of Woolston Warks., gent.
Wm. Sutton of Newnham Regis Warks., gent.
Reciting intended marriage between (1) and (2) now for £80. (marriage portion) (1) covenants with (3) that if (2) predecease (1) £20. to be paid by (1) in accordance with will or instructions of (2); (1) covenants that if (2) survive him (1) to leave £90. to (3) for use of (2) provided she remains a widow but if she remarry having issue by (1) then £45. part of above £90. to be paid to (3) for use of such issue; (2) covenants with (3) that if she survive (1) and bears his issue and then remarry £45. be paid to such issue of (1). (1) binds himself to (3) in £180. for performance of covenants and (2) is similarly bound to (3) in £90.
