Born 1734 at Calenick in Kea, second son of John Giddy and Ann Collins. Educated Truro Grammar School. Matriculated Christ Church Oxford 18 March 1752, B.A. 1756; Pembroke College, Oxford M.A. 1786. Ordained June 1757, curate of St. Erth. Married Catherine Davies 1765. 1779 his mother in law left Tredrea. St. Erth to her daughter Eward's wife, Edward Giddy died at St. Erth, 6 March 1814.
