Description

Drummond graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 1699 and became a licentiate and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1704. He was elected President of the College 1722-1727. He was the first attending physician at the new Infirmary established in Robertson's Close in 1729, appropriately as he had been President when the idea of the Infirmary was first discussed. He was also a member of the Edinburgh Society for the Improvement of Medical Knowledge, founded in 1731. Drummond's library was presented to the College in 1741. In 1820 a printed copy of the Drummond library catalogue which had gone astray was returned to the College. [Source: collection content] Contents: Cursor Mundi, 14th century
