Description

Legal Papers. Miscellaneous legal documents, - bonds - copies of record - used in various suits of the Thynne family: temp. Ric. I. - late 18th Century. Among them are the following: -

1. Award in a controversy between the Canons of Holy Trinity London, owners of the Parsonage of Lesnes and West March: 1199. Copy, imperfect. f.1.

2. Inquisition (with writ for same) recording the possessions of George Touchet, Lord Audley in co. Wilts, taken of Warminster before the Sheriff, etc. 30 Sept. 34 Eliz. [1592]. Vellum. ff.10, 11.

3. Certificate of the value of lands in controversy between John Thynne, esq. and Anne Churchey: Cloford. 30 Sept. 1602. f.19.

4. Agreement by Sir George Hayward between Lady Joan Thynne of Caus Castle and her tenant Thomas Clough of Minsterley touching her salt-pits in the said tenant's grounds in Korstow: 26 July 1607. f.25.

5. Lands appointed to Lady Joan Thynne in jointure, temp. Jas. I. f.27.

6. Papers concerning a suit between Giles Tooker and John Rous relating to the children of Charles Howard, deceased 1612 - 1637. f.45.
