The Association resulted from a decision of the Soroptimist Club of Manchester in June 1961 and was registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1893, on 14th March 1961. It continued in existence until April 1985, when its engagements and assets were transferred to the Manchester Methodist Housing Association.
