Administrative / biographical background

The Lodge of Rural Friendship was named and established in 1780 and met at the Angel Tavern, Upper Fore Street, Edmondton, London. In 1794 the lodge met at the Bedford Coffee House, Covent Garden, London. The meetings remained there until 1796 when the lodge united with the Lodge of the Nine Muses No. 330 of the Thatched House Tavern, St. James's Street, London. The united lodge, known as the Lodge of the Nine Muses, met at the Thatched House Tavern, St. James's Street. The Lodge of the Nine Muses No. 235 now meets at the Mark Masons' Hall, 86 St. James's Street, London.
