BADDESLEY CLINTON, KINGSWOOD, PACKWOOD, KNOWLE AND LAPWORTH

Agreement made between Henry Ferrers of Baddesley Clinton esq. of the first part, George Ferrers son and heir of the said Henry Ferrers of the second part, and Francis Willughby of Cossall [Cossal] co. Nottingham gent., John Flamsteed of Little Hallam, co. Derby gent., John Flamsteed of Derby gent., brother of the said John, and Sampson Baker, servant of Nicholas Willimott of Grays Inn, co. Middlesex esq. of the third part being a covenant to lead the uses of a recovery of messuages and lands described in 395. From these messuages and lands, the capital messuage of Baddesley and lands called Great Gilberts, Gilberts Milnfield, Little Gilberts, Gilberts meadow, Gilberts coppice, Great Chetwyns, Great Greene field, Birche field, Three Long fields, Great Newlands, Arbor field, Little Mayers, Great Mayers, Little Blacke field, Walleis meadow, Great meadow, Church field, Oke yard, Mill Home, Mill Pools and moat, Heywood coppice, woods called Birchee grove, Clay Pitt grove, Long grove, Round grove and Rowington coppice, also the manor of Kingswood with all lands, rights and appurtenances, and a messuage and lands in the parishes of Kingswood, Packwood, Knowle, Rowington, Baddesley Clinton and Lapworth being formerly lands of Edward Collet and then in the tenure of Thomas Harpur clerk or Thomas Petty the elder or of George Smith, were to be held to the use of the said Henry Ferrers and Bridget his wife for their lives and then to the use of the said George Ferrers and his male heirs, or in default to John, Thomas and Henry, the second, third and fourth sons of the said Henry Ferrers in turn, and their male heirs, or in default to the right heirs of the said Henry Ferrers. The other lands described in 395. to be held to the use of the said George Ferrers his heirs and assigns for ever, the said George also to have the right to cut timber on the lands of the said Henry and Bridget during their lifetime.
