Mr. Bennett started work in Belle Vue in August 1950 as a junior reptile keeper. He was required to leave Belle Vue between 1953-55 to do national service in the army, after which he returned to Belle Vue. He became curator of the reptile house in 1972 until 1978 when he was made redundant with the closure of Belle Vue. Mr. Bennett is at the moment looking into the possibility of establishing a zoo in the North West. He keeps seven snakes in his home
