A rent book etc, belonging to Joseph and John Fletcher. Joseph Fletcher started as a corn dealer in Old Street, Ashton and then began buying up property. He left his money and business interests to his nephew John. The Fletchers had other business interests including Birch Mills and other mills. The family firm died out in the 1920's.
