Farrukh Siyyar. Mughal, c.1712-19. Richard Johnson Collection. Purchased 1807. Gouache with gold; on an album leaf with blue and fawn borders. 215 by 120 mm; page 379 by 252 mm. Reverse: a quatrain written diagonally in 'nasta'liq' calligraphy by 'Aziz Allah, 18th century. Farrukh Siyyar stands on a white terrace holding a straight sword in his right hand and a 'sarpesh' in his left. He has a gold halo and is dressed in lilac.
