Letters to Henry Coventry, chiefly as Secretary of State, from Bishops, 11 Dec., 1671-14 Apr., 1680; followed (f.229) by miscellaneous correspondence and papers of the same relating to university and church matters, 27 July, 1672 - 2 Nov., 1679.
Among the writers are:- Gilbert Sheldon, Archb. of Canterbury; Henry Compton Bishop of London, and as Master of St. Cross, Winchester; George Morley, Bishop of Winchester; Peter Mews, Bishop of Bath and Wells; Guy Carleton, Bishop of Bristol and of Chichester; Thomas Barlow, Bishop of Lincoln; Seth Ward, Bishop of Salisbury; and George Carey, Dean of Exeter. Included also are:- Warrant signed by Archb. W. Laud for a commission on the state of Ipswich churches, 28 May, 1636. f.225; and a copy of a letter from Archb. Sheldon on conventicles, 1 June, 1669. f.227.
