Essays and Dialogues of the Dead, in prose, by Matthew Prior, viz.: "Heads for a Treatise upon Learning" (f.1); "Opinion" (ff.12, 32); "Charles the Emperour and Clenard the Gramarian" (ff.63, 84); "Mr. John Lock and Seigneur Montaigne" (ff.117,154); "The Vicar of Bray and Sir Thomas More" (ff.176, 202); "Oliver and his Porter" (f.225). Except the first and last, there are two copies of each; and except the first only, they all contain corrections and additions in Prior's own hand. For fair copies see the next volume.
