Administrative / biographical background

The lodge was established in 1801 under the Warrant of No. 327B and was attached to the Staffordshire Regiment of Militia. In 1803 the lodge purchased another Warrant No. 209B, because the regiment was being called upon to defend its Country and they did not want to disturb the civilians who were also members of the lodge, so decided it was best to purchase another Warrant. The regiment was also known as the King's Own Stafford Militia. The lodge was erased in 1827.
