[International Voluntary Service co-ordinated projects undertaken by volunteers, primarily house decoration and simple repairs for the elderly or disabled. The Reading branch was formed in 1961. Its most significant project was the building of an adventure playgroup in Whitley in 1967-1969. The branch appears to have wound down in 1974 being succeeded by a less formal local group.]
