Lamb and Lion Lodge, No. 192, London

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the Lamb and Lion Lodge [Antients] and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1798 and 1799 are not extant.

The Lion and Lamb Lodge No. 192 was established in 1789 under the Antients warrant No. 258. This warrant was issued to members of Domatic Lodge for general initiations as their first warrant No. 234 under the Antient Constitution was restricted to operative Masons. In 1795 the committee were authorized to dispose of the second warrant so it was sold in 1796 to a brother who helped form the Lion and Lamb Lodge. In 1789 the lodge met at the Sun, Gate Street, Lincoln's Inn Field's. Both warrants were held at the same places until the second was sold and the new lodge moved to the Bear and Wheatsheaf, Lower Thames Street, London. The lodge has moved to many inns and taverns around London and it now meets at the Great Eastern Hotel, Liverpool Street, London. The lodge was named the Lion and Lamb Lodge in 1816.
