A small collection of papers relating to his service in the British and Indian Armies, 1914 - 1922, including a ts letter (1p) from the War Office appointing him as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Motor Machine Gun Service, 23 August 1915; an ms discharge certificate (1p) from the Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry, 29 August 1915; a printed War Office permit (1p) authorising him to drive a car, lorry or bicycle on official duty, 20 November 1915; ts memorandum (1p) from the Office of the Administrative Commandant, Kaur Bridge, regarding the distribution of a leaflet inciting Indian troops to mutiny, 2 May 1920; ts memorandum (3pp) from Lieutenant Colonel Hoghkinson, Officer Commanding 'E' Mechanical Transport Column, Poona, regarding ways of preventing the pilfering of MT stores by British and Indian Other Ranks, 19 March 1921; a ts letter (5pp) written by Harvey to the Military Secretary to the Commander in Chief India, asking for a decision on his status in the Indian Army, 16 July 1922; his printed commission (1p) in the Indian Army Reserve of Officers, 6 October 1922; and a printed order of service (4pp) for the funeral of Captain F J Walker CB DSO RN at Liverpool Cathedral on 12 July 1944.
