Edited memoir by Bening Arnold (1824-1930), whose father was manager of a paper mill in Mail Coach Yard, off Kingsland Road. Includes description of Shoreditch in that area in the 1830s-40s, nonconformity, school days in Essex, fire at the papermill, working life in Finsbury and elswhere.
