Donor's maternal family mostly millhands. Mother worked in pencil factory. Maintained lead rotted her teeth. Paternal family staid and correct. Grandfather born: Openshaw, owned property. Father skilled electrician, bought garage on Chester Road, backing his house on Stretford Road. Bad debts caused failure. A job at Ford's, Trafford Park, led to transfer to Dagenham. Move down by family in 1932 caused distress. Mrs. Brown married to Londoner had a boy and girl. Son an electronics expert. Donor, Doris Brown was born at 61, Henshaw Street, Stretford (see 1904/27). Attended Seymour Park School and Gorse Park Central School. In 1983 aged 69. May is 74 in 1983. Younger sister (Marion) died of Diphtheria at the age of 15. Marion had been born when the family had later moved to Old Trafford.
